psychological flexibility.
Over the past 15 years, research has shown Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to be highly effective in improving mental health and behavioural effectiveness among a wide
range of different populations. One of the recognised
advantages of ACT is that it can be translated into brief psychological skills training programmes, and delivered to groups in various settings (e.g., clinical/ counselling, workplace, coaching, and educational settings).
In April and May 2014, Professor Frank Bond, Dr. Paul Flaxman and Fredrik Livheim are offering you a unique opportunity to learn how to deliver effective ACT-based training to your own clients. The programme is based on Livheim’s highly regarded ACT group format protocol, which offers four days of ACT training and further support as you go on to facilitate your own ACT groups.
The first two days of this training occur on the 3rd and 4th of April 2014; the second two days of training occur on 1st and 2nd of May 2014 (you must be able to attend all four sessions). All four days of training will take place at City University London (specific room information and directions will
